From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look mismatched, but the actions of the third episode show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
